Mehsana, Gujarat:
A quiet residential area in Mehsana was thrown into panic after a late-night burglary was reported on Tuesday, leaving residents worried about safety.
According to police sources, unidentified thieves broke into a locked house around 12:30 AM while the family was away attending a function. The burglars reportedly entered by breaking a rear window and escaped with gold jewelry, cash, and electronic items worth several lakhs.
Neighbors noticed suspicious movement and alerted the homeowner early in the morning. “We heard some noise but thought it was stray animals,” said a nearby resident. The theft was discovered when the family returned home at dawn.
Local police reached the spot immediately and registered a case. CCTV footage from nearby streets is being examined, and a special team has been formed to track the suspects. Preliminary investigation suggests the involvement of a professional gang operating across nearby districts.
Police have advised residents to remain vigilant, secure their homes, and report any unusual activity. No arrests have been made so far, and the investigation is ongoing.
